A Status Yellow marine warning has also been issued with northwest to north winds reacing gale force 8 or stronger today and tonight on Irish coastal waters.
Meanwhile hundreds of homes and businesses are without power after winds associated with the storm swept across the country.
Atlantic coastal areas were worst affected, particularly parts of counties Cork, Kerry, Mayo and Galway, Limerick.
ESB Networks said crews are mobilised and responding to each fault and power expected to be restored to everyone over the course of the day.
