Gardaí have arrested two people in connection with a money laundering investigation. 

The man and woman, who are in their late 20s, were detained this morning as part of Operation Joggle. 

The investigation is targeting a West African organised crime gang that gardaí say is suspected of being involved in trade-based money laundering. 

It is estimated that the laundering operation could involve up to €14.6 million over a two-year period. 

The man and the woman are being questioned by gardaí in Dundalk.

Gardaí say these are the sixth and seventh arrests in relation to the investigation.
