A man has died in what appears to have been a workplace incident at Mountrath Golf Club in Co Laois.
Emergency services were called to the scene some time after 10am.
The man was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise but died there later.
It is understood that the man - believed to have been in his 60s - was operating mowing equipment when he lost control.
It has yet to be confirmed if the man was an employee or was assisting with maintenance on the course.
The Health and Safety Authority confirmed that it was carrying out an investigation into the incident.
