The death toll from coronavirus in the UK has risen above 10,000, with 11 more deaths reported today in Northern Ireland.

The North has now seen 118 people die from the disease.

There are 89 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, bringing the total cases in Northern Ireland to 1,806. 

According to Northern Ireland's Public Health Agency, 12,199 people have been tested to date.

The death toll from the coronavirus in English hospitals rose by 657 to 9,594, officials said on Easter Sunday.

Of the 657, there were 42 patients aged between 30 and 98 who had no known underlying health condition.

Another 24 people with coronavirus have died in Scotland, taking the total number of confirmed deaths there to 566.

The Scottish government revealed that a total of 5,912 people have tested positive for the virus.

In Wales, 18 more people lost their lives, bringing the death toll there to 369.

All these latest figures have pushed the overall British death toll above 10,500.

Official UK figures for coronavirus deaths do not give a complete picture, as they do not include deaths in care homes.
