Talks between Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have concluded for the day.

They focused on the impact of the coronavirus and also what that might mean for the economy.

Fine Gael will hold a meeting of its parliamentary party tomorrow via teleconference.

This could allow the party to be updated on those government formation talks but that is not formally on the agenda yet.

A Fine Gael spokesperson confirmed the party met Fianna Fáil today and discussed the public health measures and economic issues surrounding Covid-19 at length.

They said the parties have agreed to keep their discussions confidential.
