Former president of the Olympic Council of Ireland Pat Hickey has had his bail money written off, by the Association of National Olympic Councils (ANOC).

Mr Hickey was charged with ticket touting at the Rio Olympics by the Brazilan authorities, but was released on bail of €410,000.

That money was put up by the ANOC, and it has now been confirmed by the president of Irish Olympic Federation Sarah Keane that that debt has been written off by the global association.

Mr Hickey has yet to face trial, more than three and a half years after his arrest, at the Rio Games.
