Support for Fianna Fáil is narrowly ahead that of Fine Gael, a new opinion poll has suggested.

The Irish Times Ipsos MRBI poll of 1,200 voters last Thursday, Friday and Saturday estimates Fianna Fáil support at 25%.

This is unchanged compared to the last comparable poll in October.

However, Fine Gael drops six points to stand at 23% while Sinn Féin is up seven points to 21%.

The Greens are unchanged on 8%, but Labour drops one point to leave the party on 5% support.

A breakdown of the support for the Independents and smaller parties shows that both Solidarity-PBP and the Social Democrats are each up one point to 2%.

Independents are unchanged at 10% while the Independent Alliance remains at less than 1%.

Independents 4 Change are down one point to 1%, while Others gain a point to stand at 3%.

This opinion poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8%.
