Two cars, luxury watches and thousands of euro have been seized following a number of searches by the Criminal Assets Bureau in Dublin and Kildare.

Five searches were carried out this morning at a number of premises, including three residential dwellings, a jewellers, and one other property in Dublin.

A 152 registered Audi A6 car and a 132 registered BMW 5 series car were seized, as were three Rolex watches, and a Breitling watch.

Around €4,000 and £400 in cash, two electronic weighing scales, a pair of runners worth €550, and a number of financial documents were all also seized.

In addition to those items, more than €30,000 held in financial accounts was restrained under the Criminal Justice Act.

All searches were conducted under CAB warrants, and no arrests have yet been made.

Gardaí say the investigation is focused on an individual who is a member of an organised crime gang, who is involved in the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin 8 and Dublin 12 areas.

The person had been referred to CAB by the Special Crime Task Force established by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris.

Gardaí have asked anyone with information about suspected unexplained wealth to contact the Criminal Assets Bureau on 01 6663266 or info@cab.ie.
