Enniskerry GAA Club has said five of the young men injured in a fall from a truck in the Co Wicklow village have now been discharged from hospital.

Four others are being treated for non-life threatening injuries at St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin, following the incident yesterday evening.

Members of the GAA club were celebrating a county football championship win while on the trailer of an articulated lorry when they fell to the ground.

The men were taken to Tallaght and St Vincent's University Hospitals for treatment.

In an update this evening, the club said: "All the lads are doing OK."

The club said three of the team members were sent home from hospital in the early hours of this morning.

Two others were discharged today and the club said it expects another will be released from hospital this evening.

The club said some of the other three men, who remain in St Vincent's Hospital, have injuries that "do require surgery".

Gardaí say they are investigating the incident.
