A man has been charged after gardaí seized drugs worth an estimated €4 million in Dublin.

The heroin and cocaine was discovered during separate searches in the Clondalkin and Ballyfermot areas.

In the first operation, gardaí intercepted a car in Ballyfermot and found approximately 20kg of diamorphine and cocaine.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene. He appeared in court this evening.

Gardaí also stopped and searched a car at Parkwest Road in Ballyfermot last night.

They found another 22.5kg of diamorphine and cocaine and arrested a 51-year-old man.

Another 1.8kg of cannabis was found in a follow-up search at commercial building in the Kylemore industrial estate.

The 51-year-old man is being questioned at Clondalkin Garda Station.
