A seven-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a road sweeper in Ballymun in Dublin.
The incident happened on St Joseph's Way at around 4.30pm.
The boy was brought to Temple Street Children's Hospital in a serious condition but died this evening.
The driver of the truck was brought to the Mater Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
In a statement, Dublin City Council extended its sympathy to the boy's family.
It said the incident is being investigated by the Health and Safety Authority and gardaí.
