An Irishman, who was on holiday on the Costa del Sol, has died after being stabbed in the early hours of yesterday morning.
John Pender was in Pógs Irish bar in Fuengirola when he was attacked.
Mr Pender worked with the Suicide or Survive charity, which is based in the Shankill area of Dublin.
His wife, Caroline McGuigan, is the CEO and founder of the charity.
In a statement this evening, the charity said it deeply regretted the loss of their "beautiful friend and colleague".
Meanwhile, a British man, who is understood have been living in Spain, was arrested at the scene.
It is believed the suspect tried to flee from the pub but was held by security there.
Reports suggest that Mr Pender and the main suspect did not know each other.
