The heartbroken wife of the man who died in a paragliding accident said this evening: "He was the best husband to me and father to our children."
Dominika Skóra, from Artane, north Dublin, paid tribute to her husband Rafał Skóra, 41, who died yesterday in the Wicklow Mountains where he had been paragliding with another man.
Rafał Skóra was the father of two children - three-year-old Benjamin and 12-week-old Julianna.
Ms Skóra told RTÉ News: "Rafał was a good friend and a pilot. But most of all, he was the best husband to me, and father to our children. All I'm asking of those who knew him is to never forget him."
The Irish Hang gliding and Paragliding Association also paid tribute to Rafał, saying their "thoughts and prayers are with his family".
They described Rafał, who was also known as Ralph, as "an experienced and accomplished paraglider."
The IHPA is also assisting the Air Accident Investigation Unit with the investigation into the incident.
The alarm was raised when father-of-two Mr Skóra, who was originally from Poland, failed to return to his North Dublin home last night.
A major search operation was launched, involving Gardaí, the Dublin-Wicklow Mountain Rescue teams and the Irish Coast Guard Rescue 116 helicopter.
Mr Skóra's body was discovered at around 8am this morning in a field at Ballinacor Estate in Wicklow. Wreckage was also located at the scene.

Mr Skóra's body was removed for a Post Mortem examination to determine his cause of death.
The Air Accident Investigation Unit was notified and has launched an investigation into the incident.
A team of AAIU inspectors visited the scene this morning.
