Gardaí questioned 36 people over the weekend in connection with the purchase of sexual services.
It was part of a three-day operation last Friday, Saturday and Sunday across six garda divisions; three in Dublin, (North, East and South Central) as well as Louth, Kildare and Wexford.
The purchase of sex was made a criminal offence here in 2017.
A number of files are to be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions following the investigation.
Gardaí say the operation was targeting the demand for prostitution and was aimed at protecting vulnerable people, including victims of human trafficking, involved in prostitution.
