Revenue officers have seized herbal cannabis worth an estimated €142,000 at Portlaoise Mail Centre.

7.1kg of the drug was found concealed in two parcels sent from the United States and Canada and were destined for separate addresses in Dublin city centre.

One parcel was labelled as 'Toys' and the other as 'Wine Glasses'.

Also today, Revenue officers seized ecstasy worth an estimated €4,500 at the Dublin Mail Centre.

Revenue detector dog, Bailey

The ecstasy was discovered in two packages from the Netherlands with the help of Revenue detector dog, Bailey.

The packages were destined for addresses in Galway and Roscommon.

Revenue says its investigations into both seizures are ongoing.
