Gardaí have seized a sub-machine gun and a large quantity of drugs in Co Clare.
1.5kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of €105,000 and 1kg of cannabis herb worth an estimated €20,000 were discovered during a search of a house and lands at Kilmurray, Sixmilebridge yesterday.
The sub-machine gun and ammunition was found during the same search.
As part of the operation a car was stopped and searched at Tulla Road, Ennis and cocaine worth an estimated €35,000 was seized.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was arrested and has since been released from custody.
A file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí say the seizures were part of an on-going operation targeting the sale of illegal drugs in Co Clare.
