The cost of playing the National Lottery is set to rise from next month.
The price of a two-line ticket with Lotto Plus will increase from €5, to €6.
It will be the second increase in the price of playing since it was privatised three years ago.
The National Lottery has stressed that there will be no change in the price of a ticket for the main Lotto draw.
However, the majority of players, over 90%, opt to enter the secondary draws when buying a ticket for the main weekly jackpot.
Spokesperson for the National Lottery Miriam Donohoe said that the changes will see more winners, with the top prize in Lotto Plus 1 to rise from €500,000 to €1m.
The National Lottery has said further details of the changes to Lotto Plus will be announced in the coming weeks.
