Gardaí are investigating a suspected shooting incident in Dublin.

It comes after a 19-year-old woman presented at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown this evening with an apparent gunshot wound to her leg.

Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

It is understood the injury was sustained during an earlier incident in the Shangan area of Ballymun.

The woman was taken by car to the hospital.

The scene at Shangan Green has been sealed off.

No arrests have been made and gardaí say their investigation is ongoing.
