Post-mortem examination due in Clondalkin death investigation

A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out on the body of a 74-year-old man who died after he was found with serious injuries at his home in Clondalkin on Friday night.

The man - named locally as Tony Timms - was brought to hospital but died a short time later.

Gardaí believe there had been a dispute at the house where Mr Timms was found.

The results of the post-mortem examination will determine the course of the investigation, gardaí have said. 

A 47-year-old man was arrested last night in connection with the death.

He is being detained at Lucan Garda Station.
