Three men and a woman have been given jail sentences ranging from five to 12 years for their roles in the operation of what was described as a cocaine processing factory at a house in Bantry, Co Cork.

All four were arrested as part of a joint Garda/Revenue Customs operation.

They had pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine for supply.

Last November, Bantry gardaí and officers from the Revenue Customs service were involved in a joint, intelligence-led operation.

When they raided a rented holiday home at Seascape, Dromleigh, they discovered what was described as an organised, sophisticated cocaine processing facility.

Cork Circuit Criminal Court was told today that a package containing a duvet was posted from Sao Paulo in Brazil to Portlaoise in Co Laois and later driven to Bantry.

Detective Sergeant Joanne O'Brien told the court the stuffing of the duvet had been replaced with material soaked with cocaine and dried. The drug was being chemically removed in Bantry when gardaí raided.

25-year-old Molly Sloyan from Abbey Court, Kinsale, Co Cork, rented the house in Bantry and was fully involved in a material level from early on, the court was told.

She was jailed for seven years.

Her boyfriend, 36-year old Sean McManus, from Burrowfield Road, Baldoyle in Dublin, was jailed for 12 years.

27-year-old Dean Gilsenan, from Kilmahuddrick Green, Clondalkin, Dublin was jailed for seven years, while his 51-year old father, William Gilsenan was jailed for five years.

Judge Sean Ó Donnabháin said all four were effectively involved in a cocaine processing factory.
