The 75-year-old woman who was killed at her farm outside Portumna, Co Galway on Friday has been named locally.

Chrissie Treacy died after being struck by an agricultural vehicle in Boula.

The driver of the vehicle is understood to be a relative of the dead woman.

Ms Treacy was a single woman who lived alone on her dairy farm.

She had retired from running the farm herself in recent years 

Her body was taken to University Hospital Galway yesterday where a post-mortem examination was carried out.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
