A 14-year-old boy from Dingle, Co Kerry, who was hospitalised following a football match last Wednesday, has died.
Aodhán Ó Conchúir was playing for Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne when it is understood he was involved in an accidental collision and sustained a head injury.
The teenager was cared for in the intensive care unit of Cork University Hospital but died last night.
In statements, Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne and Dingle GAA extended their sympathies to Aodhán's family.
A number of GAA and other community events were cancelled in Co Kerry this weekend.
The final of the Munster Post-Primary Schools match, Corn Uí Mhuirí, due to be played between Pobalscoil Chorcha Dhuibhne and Tralee CBS was postponed.
Local events around Dingle and west Kerry were also postponed.
