Gardaí in Sligo have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a young man's body in the town.
Gardaí were called to the scene of an incident in a house at Connolly Street, Sligo, at around 1.30pm this afternoon.
A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old man was arrested a short time later and is being questioned at Ballymote Garda Station.
Both men are from the Sligo area.
Deputy State Pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan has arrived in Sligo and is expected to carry out a preliminary examination at the house.
Dr Mulligan will carry out a post mortem at Sligo University Hospital tomorrow.
