Gardaí are investigating a petrol bomb attack on a house in Waterford this morning.
The house in Ardmore Park in the city was attacked around 3am when an apparent petrol bomb was thrown into the downstairs front room.
There was one man in the house at the time and he escaped uninjured.
A local councillor said it was understood that certain threats were made before the attack.
Gardaí say they have carried out a forensic examination and will be conducting door-to-door inquiries.
