Visiting restrictions are continuing at Cork University Hospital due to an outbreak of both the Flu virus and Norovirus, or Winter Vomiting Bug.
A ban on all visitors to the hospital was imposed to try to prevent the spread of the outbreak.
The hospital says all infection control measures are in place and every effort is being made to manage and contain the situation.
Meanwhile, Cancer services, Emergency services and Outpatient services are operating as normal at the hospital.
CUH says it regrets the inconvenience caused to patients and relatives, but the restrictions are necessary in the interests of patient care.
People with flu like symptoms are advised to contact their GP by phone and avoid presenting at the Emergency Department at CUH.
The hospital is urging people to think about all their care and treatment options and keep the Emergency Department services for the patients who need them most.
