An Aer Lingus flight which was diverted to Shannon Airport due to a technical fault with the aircraft has landed safely.
Aer Lingus flight EI145 departed from Dublin Airport at around 3.40pm this afternoon, en route to Los Angeles.
The flight was carrying 267 passengers and 11 crew members on board.
Aer Lingus have said in a statement that the aircraft landed at Shannon just after 4.30pm.
The flight was diverted due to a technical fault with the aircraft. It is understood to have involved one of the plane's engines.
Emergency services were at the scene as a precaution.
Aer Lingus has said that passengers will be brought to Los Angeles on the next available flight.
