Talks between management and unions at Iarnród Éireann at the Labour Court have ended, with the court to issue a recommendation by tomorrow evening.
The development follows a day long hearing with unions and management at which both sides presented their positions on the dispute.
As they left the Court, Dermot O'Leary of the NBRU and Greg Ennis of SIPTU said they will meet tomorrow evening after the recommendation is issued to consider its contents.

They said however for the moment strike action has not been cancelled and the next day of industrial action due on Tuesday will still go ahead.
Human Resources manager with Iarnród Éireann Ciaran Masterson thanked the Labour Court for its intervention and said the company will also consider the recommendation tomorrow evening.
