The Health Service Executive has sought around €100m for mental health funding for next year, for existing and new services.
Of this, €65m is to cover the existing level of service.
It said that a further €35m is being sought for prioritised development funding for new services, as part of the Programme for Government.
The allocations for mental health will be detailed in the overall health estimates, which will be released on Budget day next week.
