A search in Dublin for the remains of Trevor Deely has concluded, with gardaí saying nothing that furthers the search for him has been found.
The extensive search of a three acre woodland site in Chapelizod began just under six weeks ago, after gardaí had obtained new information in relation to the case.
A section of the River Liffey was also searched, but no evidence was found.
Gardaí will restore the site to the way it was before the search began on 12 August.
Mr Deely went missing after attending a Christmas party on 8 December 2000.
The 22-year-old was last seen on CCTV footage that showed him crossing Baggot Street bridge and walking towards Haddington Road in Ballsbridge.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for anyone with information to contact the incident room at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01-666-9000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
