A teenager has died and seven other people were injured after a malfunction in an amusement ride at the Ohio State Fair, US media reported.
They were flung into the air after their seats snapped off a ride that hoists and spins people, fire officials told local media.
Ohio Governor John Kasich ordered all the fair rides shut down after the incident on the Fire Ball ride, a giant pendulum that swings riders in carts from side to side.
