There has been a small rise in hospital waiting lists, according to latest figures for May from the National Treatment Purchase Fund.
The total list was around 672,000 for May, compared with 665,000 in April, a rise of about 7,000 patients.
In May, 85,794 people were waiting for inpatient, or day care.
There were also 19,281 waiting for a gastrointestinal check.
A further 478,569 patients were waiting to be seen at an outpatient clinic for the first time.
In addition, two other waiting lists show around 88,404 people were waiting, either for a scheduled treatment within six weeks, or indicative dates for example, for an annual check.
