The Saolta University Health Care Group has said that each family involved in a review of maternity care at Portiuncula Hospital will shortly be provided with a copy of a review of their care.
Saolta began a review of around 18 cases in March 2015 after two babies died during childbirth the previous year.
The process was due to take around five months but it is understood that additional cases have also been included in the review.
In a statement to RTÉ News, the group said that each family will be given an opportunity to meet the review chairman, Professor James Walker, and members of his team to discuss the systems analysis review of their care they will receive shortly.
Once that process has been completed, Saolta intends to give families a copy of the report of the independent external review.
The group also plans to publish the report.
