Human remains have been found by gardaí investigating the death of a man whose dismembered arm was found on a beach in Dublin six years ago.

The remains, believed to be a torso, were discovered at Tolka Valley Park in Finglas.

DNA testing identified an arm found on Dollymount strand in February 2011 as that of James Nolan.

The 46-year-old, who was originally from Finglas, had served jail sentences for rape and burglary.

He was last seen alive in November 2010.

An inquest found his arm had been severed after his death.

Earlier this month gardaí said new information had led them to the park in Finglas.
