The Government has announced the list of destinations for ministers travelling as part of the St Patrick's Day initiative to promote Ireland abroad.

As well as the Taoiseach's planned visit to Washington, virtually the entire Cabinet will travel to fulfil engagements related to tourism and trade.

Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross is to remain at home.

Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald and Minister for Children Katherine Zappone will travel to the US west coast, while Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O'Connor will be in Chicago and the Mid West.

Minister for Education Richard Bruton will visit the UK, Minister for Social Protection Leo Varadkar travels to France and Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan goes to Rome.

Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Heather Humphreys will carry out a range of engagements in Sweden and Denmark.

Minister for Finance Michael Noonan will be in Malaysia and Singapore, Minister for Housing Simon Coveney travels to Canada, and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Paschal Donohoe will visit Japan.
