The funeral has taken place in Dublin of Pat O'Malley, wife of former Fianna Fáil minister and leader of the Progressive Democrats Des O'Malley.
Mrs O'Malley, who was from Co Tyrone, was described by Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin as a constant support to her husband although she opposed the establishment of the PDs on the basis that it might cause financial problems for her family.
She also doubted the commitment of some of those who had pledged to join the party.
President Michael D Higgins and former tánaiste and PD minister Mary Harney were among the mourners.
