The Association of Secondary Teachers and the Department of Education met the head of the Teachers' Conciliation Council this afternoon to explore possible solutions to the union's disputes over equal pay for all teachers, as well as payments for supervision and substitution duties.
The ASTI said the meeting hosted by the Workplace Relations Commissionhas now adjourned and that it will meet Ms Perry again tomorrow.
It is expected that both sides will make preliminary submissions to the Workplace Relations Commission before any direct, face-to-face talks take place.
Last night it was announced that teachers would supervise students during break times.
