Support for the Anti-Austerity Alliance - People Before Profit party has risen to its highest level, a new opinion poll suggests.

The RED C survey for tomorrow's Sunday Business Post also shows gains for the Independent Alliance, while Fianna Fáil remains the party with most support just ahead of Fine Gael.

This week the AAA-PBP called for a referendum to repeal the Eighth Amendment.

The party alliance proposed a bill to hold a referendum to delete from the Constitution the 1983 amendment which guarantees the equal right to life of the mother and the unborn.

The bill was defeated in the Dáil but this poll taken between Monday and Thursday shows that support for the party jumped by three points in that period and now stands 9%.

However there has been a two point decline for the Labour party, its support is now measured at just 5%.

Fianna Fáil dropped a point but remains in top spot on 26%.

That is one point ahead of Fine Gael who are 25%.

Sinn Féin are down two points to 13%.

The unaligned Independents are unchanged on 10% while the Independent Alliance are up two points to 6%.

The Green Party and the Social Democrats are both on 3%.
