The LÉ Samuel Beckett has rescued 299 migrants from three separate rubber vessels during search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean Sea off Libya.
The rescue began this morning and all the migrants were taken on board the Irish naval vessel in an operation that lasted three-and-half hours.
Those rescued are now receiving food, water and medical treatment on board the LÉ Samuel Beckett.
The LÉ Samuel Beckett left Naval Service Headquarters in Haulbowline, Cork on 23 September to assist the Italian authorities with humanitarian search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean.
Last week, the ship rescued 772 migrants from a large wooden barge off the Libyan coast.
