Ireland's Paralympic athletes have arrived home to crowds of family and supporters at Dublin Airport after returning from Rio de Janeiro.

The 48-strong Paralympic team touched down soon after midday.

The team exceeded all expectations in Rio, Brazil, claiming 11 medals: four gold, four silver and three bronze.

The team claimed 28th place on the medals table - inside the top 30 spot targeted at the outset.
