The number of complaints received about pharmacies or pharmacists decreased by nearly 50% last year.
According to the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland's annual report, 27 complaints were received in 2015, compared to 51 the previous year.
Dispensing errors accounted for the most common category of complaint, followed by behaviour or professionalism issues.
The report also found that 90 expressions of concern were raised with the regulator, a 19% increase on 2014.
329 new pharmacists were added to the Register of Pharmacists in 2015, bringing the number of registered pharmacists to 5,645.
A new pharmacy patient charter, A Patient Charter - You and Your Pharmacist, was also launched today, by Minister for Health Simon Harris.
The new charter aims to provide a broader understanding of the role of community pharmacists and tells the public what they can expect when they visit a pharmacy.
The new charter will be distributed to pharmacies, citizen information centres and libraries across Ireland.
