Investigations are under way into the deaths of two babies at Cavan General Hospital.
The Health Service Executive is investigating the circumstances surrounding two separate cases in the last week.
Last Wednesday, it is understood a baby died following an emergency Caesarean section.
An investigation is expected to examine whether there was a delay in carrying out the C-section.
A second death happened yesterday morning and a review is also underway.
The RCSI Hospitals Group has confirmed that two investigations have commenced directly in regard to Cavan General Hospital.
The hospital has declined to comment, saying: "It is not the policy of Cavan General Hospital to comment on individual cases".
