Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil are on the same level of support, according to the latest RED C opinion poll for the Sunday Business Post.

The poll suggests a small increase in support for Labour, Independents, the AAA-PBP group and Fianna Fáil.

Amid heated debate on issues such as water charges, mortgage interest rates and crime, both Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil on are 26%.

That marks a one-point rise for Fianna Fáil and a corresponding drop for Fine Gael.

Sinn Féin are unchanged on 15% while the independents are up two points to 11% compared to the newspaper's last poll in March.

The Independent Alliance, which has four Ministers, drops one point to 4%.

There is a two-point rise for Labour bringing its support under new leader Brendan Howlin to 6%.

A one-point increase for the AAA-PBP puts the group at 5% support - up one point. The Social Democrats' support stands at 4% - down one point. The Greens also dropped a point and now stand on 2% support.
