Baby Alannah, the infant who was discovered at a recycling facility in Bray ten days ago, has been laid to rest.

Around 100 people attended the ecumenical service at Redford Cemetery in Greystones, including locals, gardaí and workers from the Greenstar recycling facility where the baby was found.

The tiny white coffin was lowered into the grave by workers from the Greenstar facility.

A single white dove was released following prayers.

It is not known where in the country baby Alannah was born or her exact cause of death but gardaí say she had not been "deliberately harmed."

Superintendent Pat Ward from Bray Garda Station has appealed for the child's mother to seek assistance.
