Luas drivers will have their pay cut by 10% from today, following a long standing dispute with the tram operator over pay.
The pay cut has been imposed over continued industrial action.
Yesterday Luas drivers staged their ninth day of strike action since February with more stoppages planned.
SIPTU representative Richard McCarthy said they were pushing forward with their pay claim despite the cut in wages being imposed by management.
Mr McCarthy said the union wanted to encourage Luas operator Transdev back to the negotiating table.
If that did not happen, he said, workers would increase the frequency and pattern of work stoppages.
Managing Director of Transdev Gerry Madden said the company remained committed to finding a resolution to the dispute.
He said Transdev had done a deal with three other employee grades and wished to do a deal with the driver grade and he said that sensible voices needed to emerge.
