Last night's winning €7.9m Lotto ticket was sold in Wexford town.

Hanrahan's Londis of The Faythe sold the lucky ticket yesterday afternoon.

Shop owner Michael Hanrahan said he expects the ticket was bought by a local customer.

He said: "I’m absolutely delighted for the person. It's wonderful news for the area and we are confident that it was one of our regular lottery customers."

The winning ticket was not a quick pick.

The winning numbers were 1, 9, 15, 23, 33 and 38. The bonus number was 29.
