DART services were delayed by up to an hour-and-a-half this afternoon because of a mechanical failure on the Santa Steam Train.
The train stalled initially between Greystones and Bray and then for 90 minutes at Dalkey causing the complete stoppage of southbound DARTs with later knock-on effects on northbound services.
About 200 adults and children were on board the steam train at the time.
It began moving using its diesel engine instead of steam to complete its journey.
