A new Government plan promises to increase the employment rate of people with disabilities by 15% by 2024.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny unveiled the comprehensive strategy today at Farmleigh in Dublin.

The long-delayed strategy also aims to improve education and training programmes and boost employment levels among disabled people by 15% by 2024.

The current €6bn annual Government spend on disabled people remains unchanged.

The strategy also aims to increase the number of disabled people in the public sector from 3% to 6%, however no deadline has been set for this.
