Over 1,500 venues in towns, cities and regions around the country and abroad have taken part in Culture Night.
The night saw artistic and cultural venues open their doors free of charge.
This is the tenth year of the event, which started in 2006 in a corner of Temple Bar in Dublin.
Over 3,000 free events were staged in venues all over the country and abroad in Leeds, Paris and New York.
Dance displays, workshops, visual art, music, literature, theatre and comedy all feature on the programme.

Meanwhile, RTÉ Radio was live at the heart of the action with a special Arena programme broadcast live from Temple Bar in Dublin until 10pm.
