Gardaí in Drogheda, Co Louth are treating a fire that destroyed a family-run factory in the town as suspected arson.
Fire services were called to the factory on Donore Rd in the town shortly before 10pm last night.
They battled to bring the fire under control, and at one point 11 units of Louth County Fire Brigade were on site.
The area remains sealed off as fire services try to dampen down the flames, while the roof has also collapsed.
Gardaí made a third arrest in the investigation this evening when they detained a male in this teens.
He is being held at Drogheda Garda Station.
A 17-year-old boy, arrested earlier, remains in custody.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy arrested as part of the investigation was released without charge.
There were no reports of any casualties from the fire.
Dawn Paper, owned by the McEntaggart’s, has been in Drogheda for over 20 years and employs 22 people.
In a statement they said they have have been through some difficult times in the past and they will overcome this unfortunate incident.
Dawn Paper was established in 1988 and the company manufactures industrial cleaning paper and domestic tissue paper products for the Irish market.
