US President Barack Obama was interrupted by a heckler as he hosted a reception at the White House yesterday to recognise LGBT Pride month.
The president tried to silence the heckler, but then asked for the person to be escorted out.
The heckler, Jennicet Gutiérrez, said she was shouting for the president to release LGBTQ immigrants from detention and stop deportations.
"Listen, you are in my house," said President Obama.
"You know what, it is not respectful. You're not going to get a good response from me by interrupting me like this," he told her.
The president later joked that he is usually tolerant of hecklers, but not in his house and not by a person eating and drinking the White House hors d’oeuvres and alcohol.
